Inconsistent traffic count at Nord Jæren

Throughout autumn 2018 several traffic counting units were installed around Nord-Jæren. Since then the units have been counting cars without anyone checking that the numbers are correct.

Even though the Public Road Administration has had trouble with several of the counting units, and together with the producer have tried to find the fault, the numbers weren´t verified.

Rosenkildens´ review of the data shows that the counting units used to collect numbers by the Public Road Administration show a far larger reduction in traffic than the total amount of traffic counting units show. Also, the figures issued by Ferde are a considerable concern for those hoping for a quick reduction in car traffic. They show the number of passings through the toll stations in the first half of this year were higher than in the second half of last year. This has led to significant confusion for the politicians trying to re-negotiate agreements with the government.
