Protest actions against the Paradis development
News reports, speeches, videos, meetings and social media coverage were all widely and continuously publicised for many months leading up to the local elections. The overriding message being conveyed was that the local inhabitants were not being heard.
The debate was one of the most controversial in the entire local election and has led to a demand for a new local planning policy, as well as a delay spanning many years to the entire development project.
The question which remains is this: What actually happened, and who, or what, is behind the public uprising?
