Greetings from the SCI team.
Hello everybody!
This year the 1 May comes on a Friday, which means that we will be able to enjoy a long-weekend. Well deserved, I am sure!
It is uplifting to see that Stavanger is slowly but gradually coming back to life.
Monday this week The Chamber hosted a webinar in English on how Stavanger kommune (the municipality) is dealing with the Corona-situation, and what policies they are pursuing in order to prevent further spread of the virus. Many of you participated, and asked questions via the chat, and we think it was a useful session.
The representatives from Stavanger commune gave a credible and confidence-building account of the variety of measures undertaken, and the basic tone was cautiously optimistic: The Corona-virus is being well contained, hospital admissions are low, and the kindergartens and schools are gradually being re-opened. If you missed it or want to watch it again, you can find it HERE.
The same is very much the case for the city centre, where the Chamber is located. At the public parking houses you can now park for free, and the last week they have been almost overcrowded. A good sign!
There is still a lot of work to be done but entering the long-weekend it is reassuring to see that things are moving in the right direction.
Have a wonderful weekend, stay safe and take care!
Greetings from the SCI-team.
