The Drones are coming

Rogaland is evolving as a drone region. Whilst local drone operators are winning large contracts locally and internationally, the region is working towards becoming Norway’s competence centre for flying drones.

Both Lyse and SUS are involved in large research projects related to the use of drones, and Europe’s largest drone with space for two passengers is already in place here.

During the past three years the commercial use of drones has increased from approximately 200 to over 6300. Numbers from the Civil Aviation Authority show that close to 1000 belong here in Rogaland. Several leading drone operators – Nordic Unmanned, KVS Technologies, Norse Asset Solutions and Snow Vision – are already established in the Stavanger Region.
